Over the past few years, Tiggs Da Author has been slowly but surely instilling his soulful voice into the DNA of British music.
Hailing from Tanzania, but raised in South London, the singer and producer has been tied into some of the most successful releases in recent years. He contributed to J Hus’ gold-selling debut album ‘Common Sense’, produced and featured on Stefflon Don’s ‘SECURE’ single ‘Pretty Girl’, contributed to two tracks on XL Recordings’ ‘New Gen’ compilation and made statement appearances on both of Nines’ game-changing studio albums – “Oh My” from ‘Crop Circle’ is the second most streamed track on the album, organically garnering 43m streams and counting.
As well as all of this, in 2017 he was the second most synched artist on Sony’s roster and was nominated for Music Week’s Sync Artist of the Year award, having placed tracks in campaigns for Apple, Google, FIFA, Sky Sports, Amazon, Virgin and Ford, as well as his track ‘Run’ featuring in Bridget Jones’ Baby – which earned him a Silver disc.
In addition to this, he received a MOBO nomination in 2023, for his collaboration with Potter Paper, “Gansteritus” which was synced in TopBoy and went number 12 in the UK charts.
2023 proved to be another booming chapter in Tiggs’ journey as a contemporary pioneer, with more rap royalty collaborations, such as Clavish, Nines and Fredo, and more live shows: from The Great Escape festival in Brighton; to selling out his first headline show at London’s iconic Jazz Cafe; to setting it off at Fabric’s new concept ‘Live & Direct’.
Now, Tiggs looks onto 2024 as a year set to be bigger than the last, having been nominated for Best Collaboration at the YMB Awards, and working on fresh music with plans for a brand new rap album that’s bound to have listeners locked in.
