TĀLĀ was born in London to an Iranian father and an English mother. Coming from a family of mixed heritage meant she was immersed in a variety of sounds, from Iranian icon, Googoosh, to garage, R&B, hip-hop and everything in between.
Her first beat tape ‘The Duchess', released on Brixton-based independent label Aesop, was inspired by her travels through the Middle East. She followed this up with 3 EPs on Columbia Records, including the experimental ‘Malika' which found her travelling to collaborate with artists from Egypt, Turkey, South Korea and the US. ‘Wolfpack', a collaboration with BANKS was a particular stand out track and began TĀLĀ's transition into electronic producer and RnB songwriter.
Recently, TĀLĀ executive-produced BANKS’ album, ‘Serpentina', and worked on Enny’s ‘Champagne Problems', as well as Trippie Redd’s ‘Saint Michael Myers'. Sync highlights include Nike, Adidas, Bose and Missoni.
